The space
Sharp Mansion is a landmark 1912 residence in the Old North End, designed by Dutch architect Nicolaas van den Arend and set on nearly nine-tenths of an acre behind original wrought iron fencing. More than a century of history has been carried forward with care: an imported Italian tile roof, preserved millwork and paneling, coffered and beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, and seven fireplaces framed in original tilework. Modernization has been added quietly where it was needed, never at the expense of the character that makes the house what it is.
The main living room sits under a coffered wood ceiling with a fireplace at its center and deep seating arranged around it, formal in bones and comfortable in practice. A second, brighter living space runs beneath a vaulted white ceiling crossed by exposed beams, where oversized leather sectionals face each other across a wall of windows. The library is paneled floor to ceiling, broken by built-in shelving and a stone hearth, dim and warm even at midday. A glass conservatory opens off the main level, framed in dark wood with French doors on every side and greenery pressing against the glass, which makes it the best seat in the house on a cold clear morning. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and everything needed to prepare a full meal for a large group, along with a complimentary coffee station with pods and a complimentary spice rack.
Bedrooms are spread across multiple levels, each with its own character and walk-in closet space, and the primary suite includes a private sitting area and full-height windows. Bathrooms have been modernized while keeping the period detail intact, with relaxing tubs and every bathroom stocked with plush towels and essential toiletries. In-unit laundry is available on site, and a pack-n-play and high chair are available on request.
The house is built for a group that wants options. Two separate billiards rooms sit on different levels, one under a dark coffered ceiling with paneled white walls, the other tucked beneath heavy wood beams behind an arched entry, so two games can run at once. A dedicated home gym occupies a light-filled corner floored in hardwood, with a squat rack and barbell, an adjustable bench, a treadmill, and a stationary bike.
Outside, a stone fountain anchors the front courtyard beneath twin pergolas, and a second pergola shades a full dining table on the brick patio. A covered brick loggia with arched openings runs along one side of the residence, elevated just enough to look out over the gardens. Broad lawns stretch behind the house, bordered by hedging and low stone walls, with Front Range views opening to the west, and the established plantings are kept green through the summer by a grandfathered alluvial well. A hard-surfaced sport court sits on the lower lawn behind its own privacy wall and hedge line. Off-street parking is available on site, including a detached garage and a heated driveway.

Damage Protection: A damage protection option is required for all reservations and is processed through our third-party system prior to arrival. Before check-in, you'll choose one of two options:
Damage Waiver: A non-refundable fee from $25–$40/night (max $200), covering accidental damage beyond normal wear and tear, up to $500. Most guests pick this, and nothing is held on your card.
Security Deposit: A fully refundable hold from $350–$1,000. This is a pre-authorized hold (not a charge) that is released following a damage-free inspection after checkout, typically within 7 business days.
Amounts depend on the home and length of stay. This is handled separately from your reservation payment.
Optional services like early check-in, late check-out, and extra guests can be arranged on request, subject to availability. These cover the cost of reworking the cleaning schedule or bringing in a second cleaner. Please message us ahead of time for pricing and availability.
Check-Out Policy: To respect our cleaning team's schedule and ensure the home is perfect for the next guest, unauthorized late check-outs are subject to a fee of $20 per 30 minutes. We appreciate your understanding!
